Fort Wayne Turners has many physical activities for all ages and promotes a wide range of cultural activities for the entire family. The local society is a member of the American Turners and participates in gymnastic, cultural, and athletic competitions with other Turner societies across the United States.
Awards Dinner
This event is held on the last Friday in January every year. The Club provides a free meal to all Turner members and their children. The Awards Committee presents awards to individual members who have been previously nominated by other members. These awards include Way-to-Go’s, Youth of the Year, Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, and the most prestigious Vorwarts Award.
Fish Fry
Held on Friday evenings from 6:00pm – 9:00pm from November – March.
Easter Egg Hunt
Held for Turner children.
German Fest
Not only is Turners the oldest German club in Fort Wayne, but it is also one of the clubs that founded Germanfest in 1981. Germanfest is a rich Fort Wayne tradition and the club has historically baked the kuchen and cooked the bratwurst. Members volunteer and help create a week-long celebration of the city’s German heritage.

Johnny Appleseed Festival
The Club parks cars on the grounds each year as a fundraiser. We also cook food and serve it in the pavilion. Turner members can volunteer to help park cars during this event. Watch for advertisements for volunteers,
Octoberfest
Fun family day, including carnival games, hayrides, and bonfires for all ages. Usually, the Club furnishes the meat with participants bringing a covered dish.
Children’s Christmas Party
Held for Turner children.
Christmas Eve Party
Held for all members and their children on Christmas Eve from 3:00pm – 6:00pm in the dining room and bar.
New Year’s Eve Party
This event varies depending upon the Entertainment Committee. The event ranges from a live band in the gym to a smaller party in the bar with participants bringing in a snack to share.
Bands
Various times of the year.
District & National Turner Events
Include the National Golf Tournament, bowling, softball, and gymnastics. Every four years there is a National Festival for the entire family including swimming, track & field, gymnastics, and a cultural competition. Miss American Turner Princess is crowned.
