PRESIDENTS MESSAGE: The 16^th Annual William Whetstone Memorial Softball Tournament has come and gone and I’m confident it was a huge success. I would like to thank Bones, Scooter and all of the other volunteers that assisted in making this event happen. I would like to extend a special thank you to Rich Burns. When I left the club at 5:00 Friday evening neither of the scoreboards were working and when I returned around 6:30 both of them were working perfectly. If you have never experienced this tournament you should make it a point to attend next year. It has grown to be one of the best tournaments in the Midwest. Your club has the honor of hosting the 72^nd Annual Turners National Convention which will be held August 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd. Appointed Turner delegates from all over the United States will be attending various meetings that are going to be held throughout the entire club. Please make our out of town guests feel welcome. Scooter and Tim Reed have been busy sprucing up the club for this very important weekend. Make sure you let them know how much we appreciate their efforts. Cubs vs Reds bus trip to Great America Ball Park on Sept 6^th. Don’t get left out. Sign up at the bar today!!!!!!!!!!! INSURANCE QUESTIONS/ ANSWERS At the August 13, 2008 General Meeting a representative from our insurance agency will be on hand to conduct a brief review of club insurance followed by a question and answer section See you at the club Jim Markland THE BAR WILL BE CLOSED EVERY SUNDAY EXCEPT IF THERE IS AN EVENT. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE GENERAL MEETING AND SIGNED IN TO WIN THE TOTAL POT. DEADLINE FOR NEWSLETTER: The deadline for the Turner Newsletter is Board Meeting night (third Tuesday of the month). It is our aim to get each month’s newsletter to our membership by the first of the month. Please adhere to this deadline and make the job of doing the newsletter easier.

Please submit articles for Newsletter on the form we have provided. Scraps of paper and napkins are too easily lost or overlooked. If you submit a full page schedule, results or notices; please do not mark on the back side (we can print a full page and do not need to retype). Want to use club facilities, dinning room, gym, pavilion or softball diamonds; whether it be for a Society function (N/C) or for personal rental (set charges). The dining room is available at no charge to only Turner members for a Funeral dinner for their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, grandparents and children).
