Mitch and Jo Zehr Date of play: JAN 3 JAN 31 FEB 28 MAR 13 MAR 27 APR 10 APR 24 MAY 8 CORNHOLE RULES FOR 2008 SEASON Our court size is 20 feet from edge of board to edge of board. 1. All Turner members are eligible to substitute, although there is a substitute list available. 2. “THE PRIZE HOLE” is the first throw of each match. The first toss must be a “Corn hole”, if not player is assessed 25 cents. This money will go to help support the league for the prize money at the end of the season. 3. An opening coin flip decides who pitches first. 4. Position of the players is – each player’s partner is directly across form them in the opposite box at the other board. 5. Delivery of bags – Every match is broken down into frames of play. During each frame of play each player must pitch all four bags, by alternating between each team. 6. The person who scored in the preceding frame shall pitch first. If neither pitcher scores, the player who pitched first in the preceding frame shall pitch first. 7. Scoring: In the hole 3 point. On the board 1 point. A bag can be pushed by other bags. 8. “Dirty Bag” is any bag that hit the floor before it hit the board. Bag must be removed from play and will not score. 9. “Stanker” is any bag thrown as follows and will not score: A. Any bag pitched when the player has made contact with or crossed over the foul line before the bag is released. B. Any bag pitched when the player has started or stepped completely outside the pitcher’s box before releasing the bag. C. Any bag not delivered within 25 second time limit. D. A bag pitched from a different pitcher’s box than the first bag. E. Any bag that contacted the court or the ground before coming to rest on the board surface. F. Any bag which struck a previously defined object. Example is a column. G. Any bag that leaves a player’s hand once the final forward swing of the toss has started shall count as a pitched bag. 10. Matches cannot end in the middle of a frame. The frame must be played out completely. 11. If a match is tied at the end of a frame, a single bag toss will determine the winner of the game. Teams/Players can throw from either side board in sudden death. The player or team throwing the better bag will be declared the winner. 12. The team that wins the match scores 1 point. There will be 3 or 4 matches per nights. 13. Week 1 is practice play. Weeks 2 though 7 are league play nights. Week 8 is the position night. 14. All league play will start at 7:00.
